But he didn’t know what to do next. “How can I get to the South land?” He was tired and decided to sleep and to dream about the different countries. There were some strange big boxes on the beach so he climbed into one and slept. Suddenly he was woken up by terrible noise. “What is it?” he was surprised. It was a small polar plane landing near the boxes. But it seemed like a giant bird for the little polar cub. Two men were loading all boxes into the plane. But nobody knew about the polar bear cub inside one of them. Snowy was patient but curious so only at midnight he climbed out of his shelter and found lot of jars. “What’s this? I’m hungry and I’m frightening,” he thought, but suddenly… CRASH!!! “… mmm… it’s delicious and sweet! I like it” The condensed milk was sweet and nice as Mummy Bear and soon he calmed. At the airport the meeting with the attendants finished sadly for the bear cub. He’s spent two weeks in cage of Vancouver Zoo. “How can I escape?” he thought and thought. Once he saw a fat zookeeper’s Cat who knew all about the Zoo. “Give me some meat and I’ll help you,”- said greedy Cat. “But I haven’t any meat, only fish,” answered Snowy. “I want only some meat right now,” mewed the Cat. There was a Snow Leopard Irbis in the next cage. “Can you lend me some meat please, oh Snow Leopard, for that Cat and he can help me escape,” asked Snowy. “I’ll give you all my meat if you take me with you, little Polar Bear,” answered the Snow Leopard. So as soon as the Cat was satisfied the couple of wild animals were running away from the Zoo. They’ve reached the coast. They were so tired. “I want back home. I miss my parents and it’s too hot for me” cried Snowy. “I’ve never seen white bears. Where are you from?,” asked Irbis. “In my country you can see ice and snow everywhere every day. We like swimming from ice floe to ice floe and how amazing to dig holes in snow banks. There’s lots of fish and sometimes we have meat,” told Snowy to his friend. “Oh it’s good enough to live in your place, I think,” Irbis agreed. “And where is your home?” asked Snowy. “I don’t remember. I was very young when I was moved into the cage,” Irbis was upset. “Let’s try my country! And be my friend,” invited Snowy. It wasn’t winter and they had a problem how to reach the nearest Arctic land. There were the beavers family living nearby. They made a raft for our wild friends and it left the coast of Canada. The wind was blowing and the waves were pushing the plot to the north. It became colder and it was frosty. The snowflakes were dancing in the air. Snowy and Irbis were sailing and sailing. Sometimes they caught fish. And after a long time they couldn’t sail any more - there was ice everywhere. They left the beavers’ raft and walked north together. We don’t know how long and how fast they’ve met Snowy’s family but it’s another story – an incredible story about the first Snow Leopard in Alaska…
