And I shall bring you up for another half a year. Only in six months, in September you will be able to leave me and your Daddy and find your own food and live your own life.» - tells Mummy bear. Then she adds: « If you don`t believe me, ask your Daddy bear.» Little Snowy sighs sadly and goes persistently to his Daddy. The Daddy bear looks at his sonny and asks: « Snowy,why do you look so upset?» « You know,Daddy, I am going to leave Arctic.It is the matter of life and death for me. Mummy says that I am little and I shan`t be able to take care about myself.»-was Snowy`s answer. « Sonny, your Mother is right. Bears begin their independent life at the age of one and a half. You will hunt seals, sea hares,walruses only in six months.You can ask our Arctic Tern some questions. She came back some days ago from her round-the-world tour. She is a champion on distant flights. She makes her nest, hatches her nestlings here, in Arctic but leaves Arctic for the South Pole in winter. The winter in Arctic are severe for her. Arctic Tern covers more than 60 thousand kilometres a year. She sees different countries, she meets strange animals. She knows much. She can give you a good piece of advice.» - says Daddy to his son. Snowy runs to Arctic Tern cherishing the hope. «Dear Arctic Tern, you are a clever and wise bird.You know much. Are there any other lands on Earth?»- asks Snowy. Acrtic Tern is smart enough and understands Snowy`s hint. She makes a pause and begins: « Of course, dear, there are a lot of lands in the world. But Arctic is the best.» « Why is Arctic the best?- asks little polar bear cub impatiently. « Arctic is the best place on Earth because you were born here. You are a polar bear by birth. And polar bears are the biggest land animals. No wonder that they are white. The Nature made them white to be invisible among the snow. You have thick fur, fat skin not to be frozen to death.»- says Arctic Tern. The polar bear cub insists: «Do you really think that white Arctic with snow and ice is the best place on Earth?» « Yes, dear, Arctic is a unique land of frozen Beauty with various wild Nature,clear blue sky, unforgettable northern lights, fresh air,white snow, icy water.
