Before I took part in the Expedition through the Arctic, I had lived by a schedule. In the Arctic you lose sense of time. Having 24 hours of sunlight we could start our hiking at what we thought was 3 PM but it was actually 3 AM.
Our entire being was focused on one thing: survival.
That day or night (I can’t say for sure) I was on polar bear watch while the others were sleeping.

polar bear. At first I ‘got frightened, but then I understood that he didn’t see me. I came back to the tent and woke up my friends. All together we began to watch him. It was big about 3metres in length with white fur but we knew its fur has no color. It reflects light. Usually polar bears spend most of their time at sea on drifting ice. They are powerful swimmers. They feed on fish and seals. Our bear was feeding its cups from cold and wind. We took pictures of it and that day we had to go home because our expedition was over. But we didn’t want to leave Arctic because our bear was clever and beautiful. And we didn’t want to part with it.
