Snowy is a little polar bear cub. He lives in the northern Arctic with his family. Mummy bear, Daddy bear and Snowy can see ice and snow everywhere every day. They like swimming from ice floe to ice floe and digging holes in snow banks.
One day Snowy says, "I'm tired of this ice and snow. I'm going to live where I can see something quite different."
"But your home is here! Look!
The snowflakes are dancing in the air! They are so beautiful! Listen to the snow! It's humming a very funny song, "scoosh-scoosh, scoosh-scoosh", his mother tells him.

He finds a large floe and swims far away. Snowy swims and dreams, dreams and swims and falls asleep.
Suddenly he hears a very funny but strange song: “Cup-cup! Cup-cup!” Snowy opens his eyes and sees a beautiful picture: green trees, red and yellow flowers, blue streams. He closes his eyes because the sun is shining brightly. From everywhere the wonderful voices of exotic birds are heard. Snowy catches a clear voice: “Hello! Who are you? I’m Chi-Chi, the monkey!”. “I’m Snowy! Where am I?” whispers a bear cub.
“Oh, poor thing! You don’t know where you are. You are in Africa, in the hottest country of the world!”
“But where is the snow?” asks Snowy. “Snow? What’s this? Look! Everything is yellow here: the sun, sand, giraffes, bananas!” screams the monkey. “What a hot thing, this sun! I want to see ice, snow, floes, and my dear parents. How I miss them!’
“I’ll help you,” promises the monkey. And they start building the raft, which will carry Snowy home. At last it is ready. “Good-bye, Snowy, I’ll miss you very much!”, says Chi-Chi. “Good-bye, Chi-Chi! It’s so nice to have a true friend! I want you to visit my country. I hope you’ll like it.”
And Snowy continues his surprising adventures…
