Snowy is a little polar bear cub. He lives in the northern Arctic with his family. Mummy bear, Daddy bear and Snowy can see ice and snow everywhere every day. They like swimming from ice floe to ice floe and digging holes in snow banks.
One day Snowy says, "I'm tired of this ice and snow. I'm going to live where I can see something quite different."
"But your home is here! Look!
The snowflakes are dancing in the air! They are so beautiful! Listen to the snow! It's humming a very funny song, "scoosh-scoosh, scoosh-scoosh", his mother tells him.
"Nothing can stop me", answers Snowy. "I'm packing my things and going to Africa!"
"To Africa? It is hot in Africa and there aren' t any fish or fat seals. Plus a lot of frightful animals live African rivers. They are crocodiles. They have big teeth and they may eat you," his mother tells. "But I'm afraid! I'm going to Africa now," says Snowy. "OK," sights mother. "But you' ll see a lot of dangers."No!" replies Snowy and runs very fast, without any sense of direction.
He runs and runs. But Africa doesn' t appear. Snowy is hungry. His smell prompts him - the water is not far away, and soon the little bear cub watches Big Water. Snowy loses his head, because htere' s no mum neither dad to catch him a fish. Suddenly Snowy sees a walrus and he runs a runs till he comes upon something big and soft. It is his mother. She carries her son in their hole. Snowy has supper and sleeps. He doesn' t dreams about Africa any more. He sees in his dreams his lovely caring and attentive mum!
